Welcome to Tokyo!
“Wow, how beautiful they are!” I thought to myself when I spotted two girls dressed in kimonos as I walked around Tokyo’s historical Asakusa district on Wednesday. I asked them if I could take a few photos. They agreed, and I was surprised again when they told me they were from Seoul, where they both study Japanese at university. It was the first day of their trip to Japan, and they came to Sensoji temple dressed in rented kimonos. How nice it was to see them enjoying their stay while paying respects to traditional Japanese culture.
