Cycle (non)stop~Editor’s choice 2

Aso Shrine in Hamura, Tokyo, is located near the upstream end of the Tama River cycling path. The shrine, believed to have been established by Emperor Suiko in 601, is thought to offer good luck for traffic safety and family health and welfare, among many things. I visited the shrine on March 22 and purchased a couple of amulets for cycling safety. On this day, I rode 54 kilometers and burned 1,400 kilocalories.
