The city of Tsubame in Niigata Prefecture is well-known internationally for producing Western tableware made of metal. In this area, where metal processing technologies have been continuously passed on, the L’hirondelle maker independently developed an original metal that was later turned into the product.
Combining the merits of stainless steel with an enameled cast iron pot that has high heat retention yielded a product with the advantages of both. A new pot was created that has outstanding thermal conductivity and heat retention, and is also rust resistant.
The lid features a logo and lettering hand carved by craftsmen, and the pot comes in lovely colors that brighten any kitchen. The lid and body form a tight seal, so foods can be cooked without losing their nutritional value. It is made with a special enamel-coated surface, a matte surface, so food does not easily stick to the pot and cleaning is effortless.
