3 Chinese ships sail near Senkakus

Jiji Press NAHA (Jiji Press) — Three Chinese Coast Guard ships entered Japanese territorial waters near the Senkaku Islands in Okinawa Prefecture on Sunday.

This was the second intrusion by a Chinese government ship into the Japanese waters in the East China Sea this year following one on Wednesday.

According to the Japan Coast Guard’s 11th regional headquarters in Naha, the Haijing 2307, the Haijing 2337 and the Haijing 31239 crossed into the Japanese waters north-northwest of Uotsurijima, the largest island in the Japanese-administered Senkaku chain, around between 9:45 a.m. and 9:55 a.m.
