The Yomiuri Shimbun STAVANGER, Norway — Speed skater Nao Kodaira, who had clinched the World Cup title in the women's 500 meters the previous day, made it a perfect 8 for 8 on the circuit this season when she won the final race here Sunday.
Kodaira clocked 37.24 seconds, .10 slower than her winning time on Saturday but more than enough to complete an undefeated season that included 15 titles both domestically and abroad. Erina Kamiya finished third in 38.06.
Meanwhile, Miho Takagi finished second in the women’s 1,500, lifting her to third in the final World Cup standings for the event. Her time of 1:55.50 was her best in a World Cup meet this season.
