The Japan News Vissel Kobe continued their perfect start to the J.League season, making it four wins from four matches with a 1-0 victory Saturday afternoon over Jubilo Iwata at Kobe’s Noevir Stadium.
Kotaro Omori, getting the ball on a deflected shot, fired in the lone goal one minute into the second half and Vissel made it hold up to remain alone on top of the first division with 12 points.
In other action, defending champion Kashima Antlers moved into provisional second place with nine points by coming from two goals down late in the second half to edge Shimizu S-Pulse 3-2 at IAI Stadium.
Mu Kanazaki’s strike in the 85th minute capped a three-goal spree by the visitors in an 11-minute span. Naomichi Ueda’s free kick started the rally and Yuma Suzuki headed in the equalizer in the 79th minute.
Vegalta Sendai also moved onto nine points when Hiroaki Okuno struck in second-half injury time for a 1-0 away win over Kashiwa Reysol.
