[Movie] Nocturnal blue at Kamakura beach

The Yomiuri Shimbun A mass of noctiluca scintillans emit a fantasical blue light at Yuigahama beach in Kamakura, Kanagawa Prefecture, on Friday night. A type of plankton, noctiluca scintillans proliferate with a rise in water temperature. Their lights are only visible when a number of conditions are met, such as the size of the mass and the strength of the waves. [Released on May 6, 2017]
