The Yomiuri ShimbunA preserved specimen of a large Pacific sleeper shark arrives at the National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno, Tokyo, on July 3, as one of the key items to be displayed in the “Shinkai 2017” deep ocean exhibition starting July 11. Known as ondenzame in Japanese, the creature was carefully placed into a custom-made tank by crane. It took more than an hour to finish the entire process, including moving the tank into the building on a wheeled platform. The exhibition is organized by The Yomiuri Shimbun and others, and runs through Oct. 1. [Released on July 3, 2017]
