Strong quake hits Kagoshima Pref.

The Japan NewsA magnitude-5.2 earthquake with an epicenter in the waters of Kagoshima Bay occurred at around 11:56 a.m. Tuesday.

An intensity of upper 5 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7 was felt in the city of Kagoshima. Lower 5 was registered in Ibusuki and Minami-Kyushu, while 4 was recorded in Satsumasendai, Minami-Satsuma, Makurazaki, Aira, Hioki, Kinko, Minami-Osumi, Kimotsuki, Kanoya, Soo and Osaki, all in the prefecture.

No tsunami warning has been issued.
