Seko vows broader Russia cooperation

Jiji Press TOKYO (Jiji Press) — Japanese industry minister Hiroshige Seko on Monday expressed his willingness to expand Tokyo’s economic cooperation with Moscow after the presidential election in Russia in March next year.

“I hope to start various moves” to broaden bilateral economic cooperation from around the time of the presidential election, Seko, also minister for economic cooperation with Russia, said in a speech at a conference hosted by the Research Institute of Japan, a Jiji Press affiliate.

In December 2016, Japan and Russia signed agreements on a total of 80 intergovernmental and private-sector programs based on an eight-point bilateral economic cooperation plan proposed by Tokyo.Speech
