The Yomiuri ShimbunLONDON — Teenage sprinter Abdul Hakim Sani Brown finished seventh in the men’s 200-meter final at the world championships in London on Thursday, clocking 20.63 seconds with 0.1 mps headwind.

After the race, Japanese delegation team manager Koji Ito revealed the team plans to hold Sani Brown, who has an injury to his right leg, out of the 4x100 relay.

Ito said team officials reached the conclusion after having discussions with Sani Brown’s coach and the delegation’s training staff.

“Both sides have come to agreement on not wanting to make [Sani Brown] work too hard at the moment,” Ito said.

Japan took home the silver medal in the men’s 4x100 relay at the Rio de Janeiro Olympics last summer.Speech
