Jiji-Japan News MIAMI — For the second straight day, Miami reliever Junichi Tazawa entered the game in the eighth inning with the score tied. This time, the result was the complete opposite.
Tazawa pitched a perfect eighth inning, then came away with the victory when the Marlins struck for three runs in the bottom of the frame for a 6-3 win over the Colorado Rockies on Friday.
Tazawa (2-2) started by getting cleanup hitter Gerardo Parra to ground out to third on a fastball, then finished up with a groundout and a strikeout as he found the strike zone with his first pitches.
The day before, Tazawa took the loss after giving up a tie-breaking home run in the eighth of a 3-2 loss to the Washington Nationals.
“Sometimes there are cases like what happened yesterday, and sometimes you have what happened today,” Tazawa said. “The most important thing is to bounce back. I’m glad that they put me back in again.”Speech
