The Yomiuri ShimbunPerformers rotate a decorative float representing a Portuguese ship as the Nagasaki Kunchi festival, which began in the Edo period (1603-1867), kicked off at Suwajinja shrine in Nagasaki on Saturday. The main highlights are the Hono Odori dances that towns collectively called Odori-cho perform every seven years. The festival will run through Monday.Speech
