Jiji Press YOKOHAMA (Jiji Press) — The Kanagawa prefectural police served a fresh arrest warrant on Tuesday to a 37-year-old man imprisoned for an indiscriminate assault, for the alleged random killing of a woman in Kawasaki in the prefecture 11 years ago.
The inmate, Hirokazu Suzuki, a former corporate employee convicted of attempted murder, is now suspected of murdering Yuri Kuronuma, a 27-year-old part-time worker, by stabbing her in the chest and stomach on the sidewalk of a 170-meter-long tunnel under a freight train station in Miyamae Ward in Kawasaki around midnight of Sept. 22, 2006.
The police will investigate details about Suzuki’s motive behind the suspected murder. It stopped short of revealing whether he has admitted the murder allegations.
In January last year, Suzuki sent, from prison to a police station in Miyamae Ward, a postcard on which he indicated his involvement in the case of Kuronuma, according to investigative sources. Speech
