Autumn delight

The Yomiuri Shimbun

The Yomiuri ShimbunPeople stroll along Inui-dori lane enjoying the autumn leaves at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on Saturday, the first day of the annual opening of the road to the public. The gate was opened at 9:30 a.m., 30 minutes earlier than scheduled because about 1,300 visitors had been lining up. The event was first held in 2014 to commemorate the Emperor’s 80th birthday in December 2013. The road will be open until Dec. 10. Some of the visitors took photos of the Imperial Household Agency building where an Imperial House Council meeting, which discussed the schedule of the Emperor’s abdication, was held on Friday.Speech
