PM starts Eastern European tour

Jiji Press TOKYO (Jiji Press) — Prime Minister Shinzo Abe left Haneda Airport on Friday morning, starting a six-day tour that will take him to six countries in Eastern Europe.

Abe will meet with leaders of these countries mainly to call for strengthening pressure on North Korea, which is developing nuclear weapons and missiles despite international condemnation.

“I hope to confirm cooperation over urgent problems that the international community faces, including North Korean issues,” at planned summits during the tour, Abe told reporters before his departure.Speech
