Foreign Ministry to reorganize Korean affairs divisions

The Yomiuri Shimbun The Foreign Ministry plans to reorganize the ministry’s structure as early as this summer by dividing the Northeast Asia Division, which has jurisdiction over the Korean Peninsula, into two divisions.

After the reorganization, the division section that covers South Korean affairs will be elevated to First Northeast Asia Division, while the North Korean affairs section will become the Second Northeast Asia Division.
