[Movie] A sea of blue

The Yomiuri Shimbun

The Yomiuri Shimbun Nemophila flowers, called baby blue eyes, are in full bloom at Hitachi Seaside Park in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki Prefecture, in this clip released on April 10. An annual from North America, nemophila is usually best viewed for its flowers around the Golden Week holiday period from late April to early May. This year, however, the blue flowers about two to three centimeters in diameter have bloomed two weeks earlier than usual, as warm days continued in March. About 4.5 million flowers can be seen on the 3.5-hectare hill through late April. [Released on April 10, 2018]
