The Yomiuri Shimbun

The Yomiuri ShimbunAbout 510 people wearing costumes from the Heian period (794-late 12th century) walk in a parade at the Aoi Festival, one of Kyoto’s three major festivals, on Tuesday. Among the participants was the Saio-dai, or festival heroine.
