Revised industrial output up 1.4%

Jiji Press TOKYO (Jiji Press) — Japan’s industrial production in March rose a revised 1.4 percent from the previous month, against the preliminary reading of a 1.2 percent increase, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry said Wednesday.

The seasonally adjusted production index for the manufacturing and mining sectors stood at 104.1 against 100 for the base year of 2010, the ministry said.

The shipment index went up 1.2 percent to 101.5, compared with a 1.0 percent rise in the preliminary report announced last month. The inventory index climbed 3.3 percent to 113.5, down from a rise of 3.5 percent.Speech
