Beneath the tall grass

The Yomiuri Shimbun

The Yomiuri ShimbunTwo people walk through tall pampas grass at Hitachi Seaside Park in Hitachinaka, Ibaraki Prefecture. The grass, originally from South America, grows 2 to 3 meters tall, earning it the nickname “obake susuki” (monster silver grass) and surprising visitors who stand beneath the white-silver plumes to take pictures. The scene can be enjoyed until around the end of next week.Speech
