Snow joke: Temperatures fall below -30 C in Hokkaido

The Yomiuri Shimbun RIKUBETSU, Hokkaido — The temperature in the Hokkaido town of Rikubetsu, which it is claimed is the coldest town in Japan, fell to minus 31.8 C at 6:18 a.m. on Saturday, the lowest temperature recorded in the nation this winter.
