Jiji Press TOKYO (Jiji Press) — Honda Motor Co.’s N-Box minivehicle topped Japan’s new car sales rankings for the January-June period for three years in a row, industry data showed on Thursday.
Sales of the N-Box came to 131,233 units in the first half of this year, up 2.9 percent from a year before.
The top four spots were occupied by minivehicles, with engine displacements of up to 660cc.
Suzuki Motor Corp.’s Spacia came second, with sales of 89,750 units, Daihatsu Motor Co.’s Tanto third, with 81,828 units, and Nissan Motor Co.’s Dayz fourth, with 79,789 units.
Among larger vehicles, Toyota Motor Corp.’s Prius hybrid vehicle ranked fifth, with 70,277 units, and Nissan’s Note subcompact seventh, with 68,543 units.
