The Yomiuri ShimbunTwo events featuring the Japanese national rugby team will be held from Monday through Sept. 30 at the head office of The Yomiuri Shimbun in the Otemachi area of Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, in tandem with the 2019 Rugby World Cup that will start in Japan on Sept. 20.
One is a photo exhibition focusing on the 2015 World Cup in England, at which the Brave Blossoms scored a dramatic victory against rugby giant South Africa in a pool-stage match. The exhibits include a 3.5-meter by 2.34-meter collage of 12 photos, including a picture of the come-from-behind try at the end of the match.
Yomiuri Shimbun story panels covering the first World Cup in 1987 to the 2015 tournament will also be on display.
Another event is an exhibition of 15 items related to the Brave Blossoms held by the Japan Rugby Football Union. A ball used in the 2015 tournament and a jigsaw puzzle made by the national team members to show their determination will be on display. The exhibits are not normally shown to the public.
